Parks and gardens

Escape to our parks and gardens!

Let yourself be seduced by our botanical gems for an afternoon. Among these natural treasures are the Jardin du Revers in Notre-Dame-de-Cenilly, the Château de Chantore park in Bacilly and the Jardin du Cassel in Isigny-le-Buat. Each of these places offers a unique experience, combining history, nature and the characteristic charm of the Normandy bocage.

Le jardin du Revers

The Jardin du Revers, located in Notre-Dame-de-Cenilly, is a haven of peace where nature expresses itself in all its splendor. This botanical garden extends over 2,500 m2, offering a remarkable diversity of plants, trees and flowers. Conceived as a poetic place of contemplation and meditation, the Jardin du Revers seduces visitors with its shady alleys of tall foliage, its play on transparency and its flower beds that change with the seasons. Two terraces allow you to enjoy the surrounding countryside, and even, to complete an afternoon of disconnection, to sip a cup of tea. A small exhibition room is also available to showcase local artists.

A garden in perpetual renewal

It’s a working garden that’s constantly changing and renewing itself.

The Parc du Chantore Castle

28 km from Villedieu, Château de Chantore in Bacilly attracts lovers of history and formal gardens. Surrounded by a vast landscaped park, this 18th-century château, which can be visited in summer, offers a breathtaking view over the bay of Mont Saint-Michel. The formal gardens, adorned with exotic trees such as cedar of Lebanon, Louisiana cypress and tulip tree, invite you to stroll and contemplate. Alleys lined with boxwood and colorful flowerbeds punctuate the park. The Château de Chantore park is also renowned for its apple orchard, where a multitude of varieties display their sweet perfumes. If you’re lucky, you may also catch a glimpse of peacocks, swans and frisians.

Le Jardin du Cassel

Finally, the Jardin du Cassel in Isigny-le-Buat offers a bucolic experience in the heart of the Normandy countryside. This landscaped garden, laid out around an old stone farmhouse, captivates with its authentic atmosphere and rustic charm. Visitors can stroll through flowerbeds of aromatic plants, fruit orchards and vegetable gardens, enhanced by crystal-clear ponds. The Jardin du Cassel is also a place for exchanging and sharing ideas, notably during “Jardins en fête” and craft markets. There’s also a decorating boutique offering arches, pergolas and other wrought-iron objects to turn your garden into a veritable wonderland.
