For the last weekend of the summer vacations, Hambye Abbey will be hosting an exceptional medieval camp, offering visitors a complete immersion in the society of the 11th and 12th centuries.
In partnership with the historical re-enactment collective La Confrérie Normande, some thirty participants will bring to life the various components of medieval society: monks, craftsmen, merchants and soldiers. The event will faithfully recreate daily life at the time of the abbey?s foundation, respecting the gestures, skills and lifestyles of the time.
On-site demonstrations will include arts and crafts, calligraphy, tapestry, costume-making, combat techniques and archery. The re-enactors will also be on hand to chat with visitors and share their knowledge of life in the Middle Ages.
Light meals and refreshments will be available on site throughout the day.
Regular admission prices.
