The Maison du Patrimoine Sourdin, in the heart of Villedieu-les-Poêles, is a center for interpreting the history of the Sourdin town, housed in a renovated former cinema with remarkable architecture. Six interactive, scenographic areas present the town?s rich architectural and cultural heritage through a series of outstanding museographic collections. Discover the history of this former commandery of the Order of Malta, the copper industry, lacemaking skills, the river?s natural heritage, Norman furniture and contemporary legacies, including some of the finest copper and brass objects produced today by the Villedieu region?s workshops of excellence. Temporary exhibitions are on offer, as are tours of the town. The lace school, on the second floor of the Maison du Patrimoine Sourdin, offers bobbin lace classes for the general public.
